Fights

So I had a fight (not a huge one, thank heavens) with my friend today. After we reconciled, she said “Fights have a good end result. You start appreciating eachother more. The feeling after the fight is a really good feeling.”
Nonsense.
Fights aren’t good!
They mess with your head!
Anyway, what’s your opinion? Does a fight increase love or does it decrease it?

I think that it depends. Sometimes, we say bad things that we can never take back – those times are never constructive. However, if it’s something that has been bothering you, and the discussion remains civil, then it’s a good thing.

Hahah, IF the discussion remains civil. Which isn’t the case with me and my friend most of the times! 😛

Thanks for your view, Rob! 🙂

Almost never. You are right, nonsense. These things fester over time (He said that, she did that, I did this.. etc). The next time you have a fight, it is, in effect, a continuation of the previous one. But like someone else said before I did, it depends – on the kind of person you are, the kind of person you are fighting with and how well or badly you handle it 🙂

Yeah! It’s all subjective in the end! You’re so right about the being continuation of the previous one! It’s always true in my case!

  3. It depends, I guess. But, I hate fights. I always start overthinking, and it really messes with my head!

Hmm, it depends on what the fight was about, and how you feel afterwards. She might be right, but sometimes, it just HURTS.

I KNOW, right? For some people it’s just a way of getting things off the chest whereas for the people who face it, it’s just too hurtful. And that just sucks!

According to my psychology teacher, some conflict is good.. You try to sort out whatever then and there rather than bringing it up later.. Of course only some of it is good..

Yeah that’s what my friend thinks, too! But whatever, I’ll still say no fights are better than some small fights or conflicts. 😛

I agree with you and most of the comments. Fighting with friends seems to start the long goodbye.

Maybe, maybe not. I hope it doesn’t, because my friend and I – we fight a lot. 😛

There is nothing better than a friend who you can fight and fall out with but returns and the relationship gets stronger.

Decreases for me, particularly since I am highly sensitive to emotions of others and my own. I take everything seriously 😥 <– See? I am crying already.

  8. Depends on the fight – what the issue was, how the fight occurred – if it was a generic disagreement or if nasty insults were thrown. I’ve had some good cathartic fights that have made things better before – aired grievances and all that… and then there are those ones that ruin friendships irreparably.

Yeah, my friend and I have realised however worse the fights are, they’re not worth losing eachothers companionship. So we’ve always looked past those ugly fights.
