I am me.
Whatever you do or say
Isn’t going to change
How I feel
About things.
You try to dominate me
To convince me
To persuade me
To do things I don’t want to.
It isn’t going to work.
It isn’t going to change my views,
My ideas.
I am me.
And I like me.
And I know I’m imperfect in a million ways,
But in the end,
I’ll always want to be me.

You say you are imperfect in a million ways, and yet you are not prepared to consider change. A little incongruous perhaps?

I did not say I won’t change. If there are some things I know I should improve on, I will. But those changes will be on my terms. I won’t change because of the pressure that people will give me. I’ll change because I want to. And I’ll always be ‘me’ even if I DO change, because that change will be brought about by me, not others.
I’m imperfect, and I like it. No one is perfect. And obviously I’m willing to change. But that change won’t be at the cost of my individuality.
I hope you do get what I’m trying to convey.

Not entirely because we must be receptive to change as a result of others. I am not suggesting that you SHOULD change because of what others want, but I am suggesting that you should BE OPEN to input from others as they may just have an idea worth adopting.
“Whatever you say isn’t going to change the way I feel about things…” What if I said something that gave you a whole new perspective on something. What if my life was so different from yours that I could offer perspectives that you would have never otherwise heard about? Just thinking! π

If you’re saying something ‘casually’ that can change my perspective, I’ll welcome it, and maybe also be inspired to do things differently. But if you’re forcing your will or your opinion on me, I’ll resist it. That’s just the way I am. π

Yes, do it! I’ll be waiting! π
Tell us whether you made new friends there and about their culture! I’m curious. I was a kid when I’d visited Singapore, I don’t remember much about the trip!

Oh, thank you soo much! I’ll definitely check out your post and answer your questions! I’m on a break from awards right now, so I’m afraid I wouldn’t be able to actually post about it! Also, I have this list of awards that I accepted but I’m yet to post about it. Ugh. All in all, I’m a mess. π
